A BANKER FOR COFFEE IN THE CITY

Sam Mason, a former banker at JPMorgan and Lehman Brothers, is to open his first specialty coffee store, The Assembly, on Creechurch Lane in The City of London, early next year.

Mason, who is originally from Melbourne, has secured a 650 sq ft ground floor unit at 10-12 Creechurch Lane adjacent Jamie’s  and The Japanese Canteen. They plan to offer “high grade coffee with a variety of brew methods” including siphoning which is popular in his native Australia.

Selsian acted on behalf of The Assembly and negotiated an assignment of the existing lease due to expire in 2019 at a rent of £35,000 per annum for an undisclosed premium.
